…actually has an explanation. A young man and I discussed a music project of his and he exclaimed (enthusiastically): “It’s going to be like pop, only darker!”
I have no idea what that means. But it sounded good so I stole from it. Sry, guys.
And in case you’re wondering, this is apparently how ‘darker than pop’ sounds:

If I’d been writing Star Wars, I’d have gone: “No way is it believable that Luke just happens to stumble over robots which just happen to be carrying super-important, top secret info from a princess who is really his sister. That’s sooo incredible. No one would buy that.” But do I have a problem with watching Star Wars? I never even reflected on the silliness of that...
